He is a corresponding member of the Nicaraguan Academy of Languages. Jorge has a prolific writing career\, with 9 novels\, 5 plays and 11 books of poetry; his poetry style influenced by the Beat Generation (titles include Marbeck\, Signos Arqueológicos\, El sueño de un Vaquero and Invitación a una Realidad Simple). His poems have been translated and featured in international literary magazines.Born in León\, Nicaragua\, Argüello pursued higher education internationally. He earned a Doctorate in Law from the University of Barcelona\, Spain\, and obtained a Master’s in Hispanic American Literature from the University of California\, Los Angeles (UCLA). He lived extensively in Europe and the United States and taught internationally.
