Jorge Eduardo Argüello is a distinguished Nicaraguan poet and writer known for his extensive work in literature.
He is a corresponding member of the Nicaraguan Academy of Languages.
Jorge has a prolific writing career, with 9 novels, 5 plays and 11 books of poetry; his poetry style influenced by the Beat Generation (titles include Marbeck, Signos Arqueológicos, El sueño de un Vaquero and Invitación a una Realidad Simple). His poems have been translated and featured in international literary magazines.
Born in León, Nicaragua, Argüello pursued higher education internationally. He earned a Doctorate in Law from the University of Barcelona, Spain, and obtained a Master’s in Hispanic American Literature from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He lived extensively in Europe and the United States and taught internationally.
