Benjamin Cañas is one of the most important painters of the fantastic in Latin American art. From his abstracts in the 60s, the paintings of the Mayan tribes, Los Lencas, in the early 70s, the late 70s magical realism of Asian culture and the important surreal works from the classics into the 80s, his style and techniques are innovative and profound.

Distorted nude figures, gold leaf applied effectively, ceramic-like finishes, oils on canvas, board, skin and metal matrices, large and mall drawings on paper and imagery to leave one wondering.

Our retrospective of the oeuvre of Benjamin Cañas includes all genres. Some never exhibited. Over 50 works from private collections, the Benjamin Cañas estate and a few available for purchase.
